The February 2025 update of our website has brought two exciting new developments that have been under development for some time now: our virtual Community of Practice (vCoP) is now online and ready to welcome teachers, and we have now shared some content about the Teacher Research Literacy framework that we've been developing.

The virtual Community of Practice

Our Stuttgart team is proud to announce that our virtual Community of Practice (vCOP) is now online. This online space allows teachers to collaborate, share news and ideas, or participate in research projects. You can access the vCoP by going to this page and following the link that you will find there to register. As we are still working on the infrastructure, for now, registrations are approved manually, but it won't be long before you are part of this community.

Some of the things you can do there include joining streams of news, according to your special interests, creating spaces for events that you are organising or joining, and collaborate on your research ideas. From this webpage, you can also submit research ideas or register your class if you want to take part in a research project.

We are very excited about the potential of this online community, and we hope that you find it useful as well. Also please remember that this is still an idea that is constantly being improved, so if you have any ideas about how to make it more useful or relevant to your needs, do feel very free to let us know!

The ReaLiTea Framework

Another page of the website that has just been updated is the one about the ReaLiTea Professional Development Framework. The framework is a resource that we are developing that teachers can use to assess their research literacy and identify their strengths and areas where growth is possible.

While we are not ready to share the final form of the framework just yet (it is being reviewed at the moment), this page may give you an idea about what it looks like and how it might be used.

What's next?

Turning our eyes to the future, we are looking forward to our next meeting in Ankara in April 2025, where we will finalise another batch of resources. Some developments to look out for include prototype professional development activities that you can use in teacher education classes and for self-study, as well as some updates on publications that are in the pipeline.
